“The new model is a faster, more efficient version of the original.” Scott Vesper - RCC Fabricators President
The RCC Fabricators team recently returned from Railway Interchange 2015, the bi-annual exhibition and technical conference for the rail industry. Held in Minneapolis, MN and organized by AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association), RSI (Railway Supply Institute), REMSA (Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association) and RSSI (Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc.), this year’s event was the largest rail convention ever held in North America. RCC Fabricators was proud to have been one of almost seven hundred exhibitors at the show.
Held at the Minneapolis Convention Center and the nearby BNSF North Town Rail Yard, attendance totaled nearly 10,000 including over 1,000 international attendees from forty-two countries. The main floor featured over 400,000 SF of indoor display space and the rail yard contained 1.5 miles of outdoor on-and-off track exhibits. The four day event presented our team with a unique opportunity to advertise our products while developing new relationships and reconnecting with current customers in the rail industry. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to meet with representatives of many diverse enterprises.
While the RCC Fabricators exhibit was filled with information on our operation, services, facility and crew, the highlight of the weekend for us was the unveiling of the new Tie Master XL. RCC Fabricators President Scott Vesper gave an on-camera interview with the Railway Supply Institute introducing the new product and detailing the company’s goods and services.
The XL is the latest advancement in our Tie Master fleet. In development for nearly two years, the new model features an electro-hydraulic control assembly with dual joystick controls, making the unit easier and quicker to operate than the old eight lever system. Each unit is custom made for the client who can choose from an array of options including either the standard Briggs & Stratton gasoline powered engine or the new Kubota 22 HP diesel version. Overall, the XL is a faster, more efficient upgrade of the standard Tie Master, with the potential to increase productivity over the original design.
While discussing the full line of custom equipment with several potential new clients, a current customer stopped by our booth to thank us for the six Tie Masters which they own and use on a regular basis. Their representatives kindly engaged the newcomers in conversation, giving a glowing testimonial on the ease of handling and reliability of our machines. This personal recommendation was the best type of endorsement we could have received.
