In August 2013, Railroad Construction Company, Inc. formed a joint venture with Iron Bridge Constructors and began work on the Ben Franklin Bridge PATCO Track Rehabilitation project in Philadelphia, PA.  This $103,000,000 project, one of the largest in our history, will be 80% completed by November and is scheduled for final completion in late 2015. 

The job consists of replacing the entire track system and replacing or repairing structural steel support members on the bridge.  Included will be miles of signal, power and communications cable, eighty signal / electrical enclosures, 9,000 timber ties, 2.5 miles of rail and 120 tons of new steel.

Work is progressing at a rapid pace.  A two-month outage on the southern tracks has already been completed during which blasting and painting of newly exposed structural support steel and replacement of steel stringers and appurtenances was performed.  The northern tracks are scheduled for a similar two-month outage beginning in September.
